Finalist in the 'The Write Track 2015' competition
The night sky is changing,
it's now midnight blue,
the moon is now shining,
the little stars too,
my ears are ringing,
the city is awake,
but the stars are all faded,
and all the lights are fake,
I can't hear crickets chirping,
Nor the birds singing tweet,
I just hear the cars droning,
they sound anything but sweet,
My eyes are now drooping,
as I lay down in bed,
I dream of the country,
but it's all in my head.
