Finalist in the 'The Write Track 2015' competition
I didn't belong in this world, not this lifetime
I never had truly believed
I had a reason to be alive because
People had abandoned me, no-one really cared.
And it was always lies that
I would soon recover, that my breath would come back.
I was being torn to pieces and my heart knew
The world wouldn't see me wither away
If I hide myself from the external class
I was foolish to ever let myself believe that
I was coming out stronger.
There wasn't much left, except
The enduring pain. They assured me
My simple life was nothing without
The ruse that,
"I Belong in this world."
Now read it backwards
