The blood-boiling laugh cackled in the night
Deep in the forest of darkness
The trees from where it came created a canopy
Showing a sky of pure black that was starless
The forest seemed quiet and lonely
But it had a mind of its own
Unknown to those who’d ventured inside
It would never let them go
The trees were like shadows
Dark as the night glooming
Capturing those who’d fall down the hole
Where no one hears you screaming
He hopped as fast as he could
Under the light of the moon
Whose face was as white as a teacup
As Alice fell down to her doom
