The past is the present; a journey through time
Our ancestors paving the path of the future.
Emperors, philosophers and inventors leading the way.
The future inspired by past souls never ceases to amaze,
Their guidance, taking us further; through space and time
Discovering what is lost and what is yet to be found.
Down the rabbit hole; politicians at a Mad Hatters Tea Party.
The cannons of the 1940's, echoing in the soil of Gaza,
The unsettled dust of conflict clouding our future.
History inked on parchment; yet status updates beckon from the the screen.
Whatever would Newton think of today's 'Apples'?
The world at our feet, but at any step we could fall.
Mandela, Ghandi and Mother Teresa influencing change
But the responsibility lies within us all; to recognise past mistakes
And to change our future.
