Vicious Flames

Agnes clasped the remains of her precious possession. Charred at the edges, was the photo of her father who was lost in the anguish of the vicious flames. Eyes powerless against the blinding smoke, left behind veins of red. Lost in the distant glow of red Agnes continued to traipse. Incessant coughing in sync with the scratching of her dragging foot. Only three days had passed since the deadly fire tore through her home town. Bitter memories still haunted Agnes. Her father, died before her eyes. Although the sun had left the sky, the forest was still alight. The quiet chatter of the woodland animals now a lost memory. Trees of black stood. The forest was empty. Still Agnes continued to limp, past each tree hoping for her life to turn. But it didn't. She had lost everything.
