A Battle On The Water

The waves crashed along the shore,
And power, they did not lack,
The surfer strode confidently towards the water,
And the ocean, it stared defiantly back.
The surfer was no novice,
Indeed this wave was not his first,
But as the water chopped and churned,
The newly made ‘soldier’ cursed.
The soldier paddled out on his board,
And in reply, the waves tossed him round,
But slowly, and surely, he found his ride,
And he was off, at the speed of sound.
Shakily, the soldier pulled himself up,
And realised it was done;
The surfer had faced the monstrous waves,
And the battle had been won.
