I was sitting in the woods,
Not a sound to be heard,
Not a growl or a bark,
Not even a bird.
I was starving to death,
So weak I could die,
A berry bush in sight,
I walked over in fright.
‘Poison they could be,’
How was I to know?
A risk I would take for my hunger to go.
So I grabbed a bunch and scoffed them down fast.
But I knew this minute was my last.
I could not at all breathe,
Death was right ahead,
I would soon be dead.
