The Forest's Secret

3rd in the 'Calling All Poets 2007' competition

T’was but the morning sun that rose,
The sweetest melody of the hour,
And to this wish it did arouse,
The whispers of a secret splendour.
Bluebells trembled in the flowing wind,
Whilst violets swayed so smooth,
Bright sunflowers craning for the shine,
The forest awake, so did it move.
And float upon its tiniest wings,
Of sparkling glitter did she,
Where the forest did so welcome her,
Such gentle-sweet beauty.
Lightly stepped this smallest being,
Across the coloured way,
Upon the tiniest of the petals,
Did this being stay.
