Excellence Award in the 'The Write Track 2015' competition
A horrible nightmare in my reality,
Packed with pure force and horrid brutality.
The monster’s a bomb exploding my brain,
An unkind soul who’s rather insane.
Grabbing me tight, forcing me to swallow,
My heart is filled with regret and sorrow.
Controlling my judgement, meddling with my mind,
Covering my own thoughts like a roller blind.
“Overcome your addiction,” the Help Line said,
But there’s an abundance of anguish inside my head.
It makes me shake, shiver, scream,
An ugly face that’s not a dream.
It’s totally dark inside this clasp,
I can’t escape the monster’s grasp.
Suicidal thoughts race into my mind,
But there is an exit I just need to find...
