called it
counting but not
by the typical sense
for we had slipped far
beyond the gentle coves of lapping
numbers drifting through minds like waving rises
rather now we sailed over horizonal asymptotes seeping
into conjectures of could-bes relying no longer on fingers
nor toes at limit twenty finding nothing downed births infinity
