The metal leaves that fly without wind
The tainted, wicked, wild and sinned
The armoured bodies made for one goal
The torn, destroyed and wounded soul
The unruly awareness that raises your hairs
The sinking joyfulness replaced by despair
The bitter feeling when your blood runs cold
The lurking danger that remains untold
The strong scent of shrouding smoke
The lonely witness of all life broke
The unknown battler and the likely hero
The needed peace and death count zero
The once lively soldiers that rest their heads
The green and browns turned black and red
The absences of smiles and hands to lend
This is the story of a battlefield end
