War

War hit the village cold & hard,
They approached yard by yard,
He ran like there was no tomorrow,
He ran until his blood was full flow,
As he ran he thought,
What else had the war brought,
It brought conflict and pushed him away,
He left his family for today,
He wants to go back but he knows he can’t,
He wants to protect his family but he knows he shan’t,
Is this it, is this forever,
When will the war stop,
Maybe never?
