Maybe our generation isn’t the one that is destroying the world
We are the generation that spreads the word and tries to make a difference
While the older generations fail to come to our assistance
We are the generation of Facebook, Youtube and Twitter
We tell the stories of the poor, the angry, and the bitter
We are the generation of acceptance, of breaking the mold
Instead of following the masses, and the norms of old
We are the generation that gives the minorities a voice
We give the ones who had no options a choice
We are the lazy generation of wifi and 3G
But we are also the ones who answer a desperate plea
Maybe instead of blaming the younger generations
And the reams of information set to change our great nations
We should stand with our kin and the rest of humanity
Instead of falling prey to this insanity
That is the constant outrage of the people
When their children fail to follow the ways of old
