A little black kelpie, who belongs to me
Is playful, funny and loyal as can be.
We have called her Clancy, she's tiny and black
Mischievous, funny and can be a brat.
She is soft and gentle but hates things that are frightening
Like the dishwasher, loud noises, thunder and lightning.
She cringes and whimpers under my bed
Nuzzling her nose alongside my head.
When strangers approach they stop and they stare
And the hair on her neck stands in the air
Protecting our family, she sees as her role
From morning to midnight, she stands on patrol.
Her love is so endless, she's mindful and caring
She gulps her food down but doesn't mind sharing.
I love her to death and can't get enough
Because there's nothing as wonderful as an animal’s love.
