Old Mother Whale
She travels slowly, sad and lonely.
If you listen you can hear her mournful cries as she says her last good-byes.
She passes by beaches where turtles will soon hatch passing the cracked cuttle bones on the soft sand.
They shuffle to the sea but will some day return to the land.
Sad memories of her courageous fight will taunt her through every night.
For she managed to get free but her calf now just a memory.
She remembers how he use to dance.
She only wishes she had a second chance.
She will travel alone to where she calls home.
The giant of the deep waves her tail
Old Mother Whale.
