As we stepped into the water,
We went under and cried,
T'was meant to be an adventure,
Except instead we died.

The roar of the trenches,
The burn of the flames,
The icy cold water,
The blood fell like rain.

The spirit and courage,
The fathers and sons,
The boats and battleships,
The long lost loved ones.

The speed of the missiles,
The way we got shot,
The poorly thought through landing,
All left there to rot.
