There is a solitary pelican,
Sitting on his rock,
As the fish swim by,
They’re gone, In one gulp.
See that solitary pelican,
All the tourists gather round,
Their cameras click and snap,
But the pelican stands its ground.
There goes the solitary pelican,
Flying into the sun,
The tourist’s sigh and walk away,
Leaving only one.
See the boy on the waterside,
Wondering where it has gone,
He dreams of places far away,
And still the pelican flies on.
