Conception, birth and those early years,
Forming and growing while shedding some tears,
Life is so simple, and without much concern,
And nobody cares how much money you earn.
All of a sudden things aren’t very clear,
Your life is less fun and more filled with fear.
The pressure of study and finding a career,
The mortgage, the money; then, retirement is near.
You’re proud of your job, your children, your wife,
You’ve travelled the world and had a good life.
But what is your legacy, your mark on this Earth?
Is it just your success, your kindness and worth?
The years passed you by you’ve downsized your life.
The end now seems near for you and your wife.
You glance in the eyes of your little grandson,
And the circle of life for this boy has begun.
