In 1915 there was the Gallipoli landing.
I signed up for the war, leaving my family.
I didn’t really know what I was in for,
But I soon find out when we landed in Gallipoli.
Life was very hard in the trenches.
The only things I saw was mud, blood and rain.
That is why I couldn’t see the bullet coming my way,
The only thing I felt was pain.
I lay dead on the sand,
I couldn’t feel anything.
I hope people would remember me,
I hope I didn’t die for nothing.
Now I am safe in heaven,
I hope the soldiers die no more,
I hope that one day our world will have peace.
I hope that to the world of violence we can shut the door.
