I wanted to apologise,
For all that I'd done.
It was not my intention to come in guise.
I am not as you say - of stone.
I do feel; a pulsing dull ache,
To the marrow of my bone.
In seeking your forgiveness—
And my salvation,
Along with words of little finesse,
I purge myself with Adam's ale
Only for my vessels to run water.
Finally, in death, do I find my holy grail.
