Wait

Glistening droplets of crystal
Cascade down the invisible barrier.
I am waiting.
You said you'd return,
Like the sun after the night leaves.
But I am still waiting.
You made sure you said:
'Don't fret. I will love you and I will never leave you.'
But I am still waiting.
I thought this would happen. I knew it.
But I said nothing. Did nothing.
That kept me waiting.
Did you really have to go?
To make me wait.
For you to return, from the massacre of war?
But I will wait.
