A Countryside

The sound of a horse trotting
on the dusty tar road with her owner,
the kookaburra sitting
on the new post after a fright.


The stalking cat out for adventure up the tree,
the willow trees waving in the wind.

The jeweled green grass,
with the shrubs and bushes hiding secrets inside.
The birds are screeching in the tree,
while the car waits patiently to be driven.

The tree swing waiting
waiting to be swung with a friend,
the little cottage on the hills
peacefully in the countryside.
