She looks out the window
Wondering “Why?”
Other human beings
Are treated worse than she.

In this place she calls home,
She looks around
Wondering “Why?”
It’s not just “Mine”.

With boats it started,
Then by plane:
She’s wondering “How
Could we do such a thing?”

It took her a while,
To understand;
That’s how life works
If you don’t take a stand.
