I stand in the garden and wait as still as anything.
I wait and wait until I hear him,
He is buzzing around.
Looking for something to eat or somewhere to land and rest his wings.
I want to move closer.
I can’t.
He lands softly on the top of my mouth.
I have to wait until he moves closer.
He goes, in sucking off the dew from the crisp, cold night.
I snap my jaws shut and swallow him whole.
I am not yet satisfied, so I wait quietly for my next victim.
I am the TRAP
