Excellence Award in the 'Beyond Words 2015' competition
It grabbed my chest and tightened its grip,
Overwhelmed my possessed body with exhilaration.
My throat clogged up with air, it suppressed my voice.
My heart beat quickened its pace,
As if it wished to burst out at any moment.
Some would describe this feeling as 'love.'
Though not wrong, they are neither right.
At least not for me.
It was rather a burning passion
And not for someone, rather something.
Every time I took to the stage, whether real or imagined,
A chill coursed through my body as my soul synced to the music.
I closed my eyes and my soul swayed with every note.
Adrenaline rushed through me knowing that this may be my last
And the bitter words of truth ring within my head
But nonetheless I dance with the same passion til the very end
