A Princess' Dream

Excellence Award in the 'Beyond Words 2015' competition

On the night before Christmas,
there was a girl named Ella,
she lived in a mansion on a hill in a cellar,
she stayed in this placed with her step mum and sisters,
and at the end of each day on her feet she had blisters,
she worked for these monsters as a peasant all day,
but always set a time to kneel down and pray,
"oh dear lord what have I done to deserve this life?"
why can't I have children and be a stay at home wife?
but all she was left with was silence and grace,
to wake up the next morning with a cloth on her face,
her dreams had been answered,
and she was very surprised,
to find her father downstairs singing and alive,
What a Merry Christmas she had but one question was asked,
"Is this a dream or is this real?"
If so my life is complete
Like a present, that's sealed.
