"Left, left, left, right, left. ‘’
War gruelling, fighting, murdering… dying
‘’Left, left, left, right, left.’’
Lying face down on the floor.
‘’Left, left, left, right, left. ‘’
Lying in craters, shaking from shellshock
‘’Left, left, left, right, left. ‘’
Charging the trenches, firing off rounds.
‘’Left, left, left, right, left.’’
Firing, stabbing, dying for king and country
‘’Left, left, left, right, left.’’
Deciding if a man should live.
‘’Left, left, left, right, left.’’
Fixing bayonets and charging into death.
‘’Left, left, left, right, left.’’
Firing a cannon, corpses of friends littered on the ground.
‘’Left, left, left, right, left.’’
Helping injured friends so they may live another day.
‘’Left, left, left, right, left.’’
Lying on the ground and breathing your last.
