Excellence Award in the 'Top Secret 2016' competition
The creature that tended to newborn starlight
Would rest, and close her eyes
To dream of a concrete paradise
And hope to one day wake there.
The human who could all but live on Earth
Would capture stars in ink on canvas
To romanticize them; to hide his sadness
And hope to one day meet them.
The creature with galaxies in her mind
Would find the human with dust in his heart
To know they were complete, but still apart
And never to see the other again.
