Basketball
The whistle drilled into our ears. As ball jumped into the air
And shouted ‘’I’m hit’’. Then he bounced on the ground
Which cried out as a decade of feet. Stepped on his arms, legs and even his head.
Then the whistle blew again. And my drink bottle quickly emptied itself.
As I ran back onto the court
The seats of the spectators blocked. Their ears as the ‘’pushy parent’’
Yelled at us.
The net cried out as the ball flew into it,
It earned a roar from the crowd
But was quickly silenced
With the ball hitting the ground
After the other net was ripped.
The whistled beeped again.
As I shook hands the ball sighed in relief
As it survived another match
Without too much stress.
