I wish upon a star for a starry castle high,
I wish upon the moon, for it to light the sky,
I wish upon the clouds to take me gently to
a castle in the vault of heaven where I can be with you.

I wish upon the tangled leaves for a garden filled with roses,
I wish upon the birdsong, that I might sing you prose,
I wish upon the glistening sea for a spot of warming rain
so I can run away with you, my love, and know you once again.

I lay curses on the dark street nights, in our blanket of cold,
I curse all those who feel it not, parading flashy gold,
I'll keep you warm, I'll keep you safe, through night and in the morn,
Just us, two lonely homeless hoping that we'll make the dawn.
