The man came running when he heard her shriek,
The man feared his beloved was no more.
The caterwaul echoed, but soon grew weak.
And sure enough, he was greeted with gore.
This couldn't, this couldn't be his dear.
But alas, this was his dearest, his wife.
Turning the corner, he was met with fear.
Though she was not dead, she was far from life.
But still in her shell of a form she stood,
She looked disturbed, her skin shred and tore.
Her limbs were loose and as stiff as wood.
But this was not what chilled him to the core.
She looked upon him with hungry eyes.
Hungry, animalistic, undead eyes.
The apocalypse had come.
His dearest, his wife, gone forever more.
