A Better World

Cold was the night,
And all was lost,
The Apocalypse has begun,
The mood as cold as frost.

No one could stop them,
The mutants were too strong.
Due to testing and torture,
made their genetic structure all wrong.

More subjects they need,
But none will volunteer,
So they have to use force,
And take someone's most dear.

Is this how it ends?,
I did not expect this,
At least my pain will end,
just as much as his.
