Nature And I

I stood silently, in solemn solitude,
anticipating emotions escape my veins, hunting for my eyes,
like the creaking trees let their once green leaves
fall excruciatingly to the eroded ground beneath.
The exhortation to live life to its fullest,
slowly, silently, seeps away,
like the ruinous rain, pouring from above,
heaven’s tears absorbed into the eroded surface.
My blurry gaze drifts towards the once blue skies above
noting our similarities
crying, complaining about the world’s deception
like the creaking trees crunch, dead under snowy burdens.
Abruptly, I noticed how I stood there,
not silently, or in solemn solitude,
but with the realization of my surroundings
I know I am not alone.
