A raw winter's day with the morning sun aglow,
A beadle walks by with his hair coated in softly-melted snow.
A tranquilised sigh escapes his lips,
There are many miles to go following the winter mist.
Mellow flowers and chilly zephyrs,
Humble Beadle cringes in this spontaneous change of weather.
He strides along the snow with a heavenly bliss,
There are many miles to go following the winter mist.
And then at a distance the church bell’s toll,
Hymns echo graciously, bless our souls!
Humble Beadle's sentiments descend like they're sunkissed,
There are many miles to go following the winter mist.
At last an amiable smile forms,
Those pallid cheeks are filled with everlasting warmth.
The heart isn't charred anymore - a pure God's gift,
But there are many miles to go, following the winter mist.
