I stand on the block and take my mark
The buzzer beeps
For a brief moment I am flying through the air
Splash goes the water as I enter
I'm completely submerged
Weightless as I glide
The world around me is silent
My arms break the water as I take my first stroke
I can breathe again
Hands apart, pull down, flick back up and over
Bottom up bottom down as fast fast you can
I see the flags head stays down, no more breaths power through
Hands hit the wall I look around it's only me
I'm snapped back to reality as the crowd screams my name
It's then I know that I've achieved my dream.
