Easter eggs, Easter treats,
Mounds of chocolate for all to eat.
Easter egg hunts, bunnies too; a time to relax and feel renewed.
Hot cross buns and chicks and lambs;
Family gatherings, holiday plans.
But just remember the reason why
We celebrate Easter and have life.
Jesus Christ, God's only Son;
Died on Good Friday for each and everyone.
Blood and water gushing forth; His pain, His sufferings; our remorse.
He rose on Sunday, a perfect dawn,
Our Light, Our Saviour, O blessed morn.
