Every Christmas Luca gets cards from his friends in America and England. They have pictures of snowmen on them. Luca wishes he could build a snowman but it is always sunny at Christmas in Australia. It is Christmas Eve and Luca decides to build a sandman on the beach.
Luca is pleased with his sandman but still wishes for snow. That night Luca hung his stocking and went to bed but before he fell asleep he wrote note to Santa.
‘Dear Santa, I know you are very busy but what I would really like for Christmas is snow. Merry Christmas to you. Love Luca xxx’
Luca went to sleep, suddenly there was a jingling noise outside his room. Luca opened his curtains and there was Santa’s sleigh. Luca couldn’t believe his eyes! Santa lifted his sack, gave a jiggle and was gone. Luca then heard a noise in the lounge. He crept through and saw Santa reading his letter.
Santa started placing parcels under the tree and in the stockings. He drank the milk and ate his cookie. As he turned he saw Luca and winked. In a jiggle he was gone. Luca gazed out the window.
Luca watched as the sleigh twirled and twisted in the twinkling sky. Suddenly little white puffs sprinkled from the sleigh. It was SNOWING!
Luca ran out of the house. The snow was cold on his face. It felt wonderful and Luca jumped and waved with joy. After a while the sand man became covered in snow. It was Luca’s own Snowman!
