I see:
My mother crying as she’s waving goodbye,
the sadness in her eyes I will never forget.
I hear:
Us marching as we prepare to take off to war,
I say a little prayer ”May God protect us all”
I taste:
The gun powder and blood in the back of my throat,
the horrific flavour is difficult to swallow.
I smell:
The breeze as the poppies blow,
I look around, we’re all scared and hiding low.
I feel:
Horrified from all the pain I’m going through.
(I finally fall to the ground and rest in peace.)
