Observe

As I sat on the sidelines, I observed

The girl on her phone in class
The boys playing soccer
And those girls at the back of the bus
Gossiping like there was no tomorrow

Most didn’t notice, but I did

The girl desperately googling answers
The boy getting yelled at for missing the goal
And that one girl on the bus
Ignoring the insults that came from behind

No one notices
I wonder why

They’re so busy adding to the world
That they can’t see what is already there
