Have you ever loved a flower
Watched as she spreads her petals like a bird about to take flight
Have you sworn each dawn to let her go
Only to love her more by dusk
Have you ever watched her sway to the wind
Like its a song only she could hear
Have you ever dreamt of her at night
Only for her beauty to blur like a memory kept too long
Yet the beauty of a flower is fleeting
For nothing beautiful stays
And you are left broken
With only the whisper of her left
