Excellence Award in the 'Word Zone 2016' competition
A whispering draws me in,
Quiet disbelief.
To see one's past alive
A greater joy should not exist!
Babies once free now march in line
To the beat of a corporate jingle.
Fighting, Fighting, fight again
But still walls of "firm" foundations
Rest on the shoulders of the free men,
Why don't they fly?
Don't know where or how their lives went
Staring dazed into Golden Arches,
Quick! Quick! While they are weak,
Competition is tomorrow.
Into the jaws of the promised land.
Still marching they go.
