As the light turned to darkness and the children got into their beds,
A little glimmer of sparkles hung over everyone’s heads.
When they realized it was there the people looked up and gazed.
The glimmer did not move, which made them all amazed.
The children saw the sparkle when they stayed up late one night
As they thought it was a great and wonderful sight.
They had never seen the sparkles shine before in the night skies.
Some children thought they were diamonds, and others thought they were eyes,
But most of them just said, “We don’t know what they are.”
Then one young girl said, “I think I’ll call it a star.”
Everyone in town now knows what hangs in the sky,
So let us all look up at night and see what floats above the town so high.
