When wars to come bring more than pain,
More than grief and starts its defeat;
Should it take our lives like a thief,
In the bright daylight and pitch midnight,
The pain carries on, as to the grief and despair;
But, yet how strange that at this time,
When worlds should meet,
He gives us strength,
So we might find that the sweetest piece,
Lies at the tip of mercies feet.
