Soft and fluffy, he is my puppy dog,
As he looks at me with his big brown eyes,
I can't help but decide to go for jogs,
Sitting on hills and looking at the skies.
He was my best friend from seven years old,
We have grown up together in our home,
Bernie would cuddle me if I was cold,
So we would get up and go for a roam.
As we grew older, he aged faster,
And then, it was time to say our goodbyes,
I did not think about this disaster,
And all you could hear was the sound of cries.
In the end, I will keep his memory,
And the pain will just be temporary.
