A child cries, but nobody hears. Our own problems, they overrule.
Icebergs melt, but nobody minds. Who cares if we get hot or cool?
Resources diminish, but nobody sees. Besides, it won’t affect us.
Poverty is massive, but nobody gives. It’s not considered a topic to discuss.
Terror and fear reign, but nobody comforts, despite ourselves being fine.
Species go extinct, but that’s not an issue, we have more important things online.
Wars rage, but nothing is done. World peace is a dream in a dream.
Slavery continues, but we don’t realise. Their cries are a smothered scream.
Our world is a dump, of our trash waste and scum,
But that problem, we’ll leave for the time.
We cut down our forests, for our own selfish needs,
Ah, but once again, that’s not a crime.
Our greed and our selfishness, have made us blind,
To the mistakes we are making, and thus,
If we all stopped for a minute, to look around,
We would see our biggest problem - it’s us.
