I drown in deep regret, sorrow, and despair,
The pungent smell of gunpowder lingered in the cool morning air.
Vast grassland stained red,
Dead scattered everywhere.
The moment when my eyes caught a glimpse,
Of the speeding bullet, that struck my brothers chest.
Waves of shock flood my thoughts,
Like an intrusive storm.
Feeling his every pain.
Within the blink of an eye, he was gone,
The truth that he was dead shattered me.
I was broken beyond belief,
Staring at his cold lifeless body.
Tears race down my cheek as I trudge along the bloody battlefield,
My brothers body upon my back.
