the
leaf falls
gracefully, like the
feather of an angel's wing;
the colour of pink blood, the shape of its gently throbbing heart. Veins weave delicately across
the papered brittle skin, the crimson creeks and rivers trickling
like an embroidered spiders web, across its wrinkled expanse.
The drifting abyss of desert planes, the flailing tiny limb,
the minute checkers piece of a forest entity
the scarlet, graceful, deadened
