Firestorm
It was huge, kilometres across, racing though the Eucalyptus forest
Finally breaking out onto the plains
All life was consumed before its fiery might
Where before there’ had been beauty now there was ashes
only one thing stood in its way.
Far away across the plain it stood
Towering across the outback, red rock glowing in the light of dawn
It has stood for millions of years and will stand for many more
The firestorm was upon it, flowing across the surface
Burning flames rippling
Then it passed, all energy exhausted
But the rock still stood
