Little magpie landed near me,
Black and white and shiny was he.
I picked him up and he started to squark,
Poor little thing, if only he could talk!
I took him home and fed him meat,
Soon he was scratching at my feet.
He hopped around on the ground,
Pecking at holes until worms were found.
Magpie, I'll let you fly one day,
But please, little magpie, don't fly away.
