My eyes flutter open,
Revealing dew and air golden,
The wind carrying sounds of "You have been chosen"
The sight before me leaves me breathless,
True beauty wrapping around me like a necklace,
Its magnitude making me senseless
Was this what it was like before,
When the world was something to explore,
A picture stolen out of folklore,
Now a barren land
Destroyed by our own hands
A war torn wasteland
My eyes fill with tears
As I remember the warnings that fell on deaf ears
Reality now filled with morbid fears
As I feel the serenity transcend,
I know this can't be the end,
We have to make amends.
